Episode Synopsis

Co-hosts Joshua Lesan and Patrick Germann speak with Fr. Joseph Fessio, SJ, editor of Ignatius Press, and Fr. Mark Doherty, president-rector of St. Patrick’s Seminary, about the theme of spiritual fatherhood in the work of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. Ratzinger looks to St. Joseph as the model spiritual father and understands creation as a cosmos brought into being by a loving father. In trusting relationship with the Father, we as children are invited to share in and work under the family name and to participate in paternalauctoritas by bringing about growth in others.Resources: Benedict XVI.
