Listen "THIS is the biggest misconception about dental implants"
Episode Synopsis
Do all dental implants work? Sure. They just work to varying degrees of success. When it comes to my patients, I want to place only the best dental implants–I want my solutions to last for my patients and I'm not going to risk that trying to save a few bucks (which certainly won't pay off if the implant solution fails down the road!). So why do we hear "all implants work" all the time? Personally, I think it's because we're an industry of biologists and doctors, not engineers. Most dentists are never trained in how screws (implants) work–it's not our fault! However, we do know some things about materials. The material implants are made of is one of the biggest factors in the strength and longevity of implants, and not all materials–not even all titanium–is made the same. Check out the video to learn what to look for in implants and why misconceptions about this concept still float around all the time.
