Young children typically being to speak between 12 and 18 months. Those first two to three years are the adorable times. Babies trying to mimic your sounds, creating their own language, usually one that only mom or dad understand, until they get a little older.But imagine being able to have your child tell you what they want, before they can speak.It can be done, using Baby Signs. Children can learn these hand signals to indicate anything from: more, to hungry, milk, cookie, etc. to just about any word you want to teach them. Some children in the U.S. have been known to learn over 200 signs, including colors and animals. An early childhood education program in Cincinnati teaches children beginning as young as six weeks to learn to communicate before they can speak.
