In this episode, our guest Shawn Grenier shares his perspective on effective workplace debriefing through the lens of the learning within the U.S. military and the international oil & gas industry. Shawn offers practical insights into what effective debriefing is/is not, and how to make debriefing a daily practice within your organisation. All organisations want to succeed and develop their people but often struggle with how. Shawn demonstrates how debriefing can is used to build strong organisational learning cultures and improve workplace performance. Shawn grew up in Southern California and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Following graduation, he started an aviation career in Pensacola, Florida. After countless moves across the U.S. and currently internationally based, he has gained over 30 years of valued leadership experience in aircraft maintenance and operations, team performance, and strategic development, and he is also an active international commercial aircraft pilot. He served in multiple Navy squadrons and as a consultant in the international oil and gas industry that has literally taken him all over the world. With opportunities to work at multiple levels in many different high-reliability organisations, Shawn understands the challenges faced by today’s leaders and managers.
