Listen "Is Creativity a talent or a skill?"
Episode Synopsis
Is creativity a talent or is it a skill? Good question. And the answer is kind of, could be both. Well, let me explain.
Why is creativity a talent? Or a skill. Well, most people wrongly believe that you have to be born creative in order to be a creative genius. Not true. While there are some people that inherently have creative behaviors that have just naturally been there from a very early age, all of us had creative tendencies, creative thinking, and creative ideas and creative behaviors when we were children.
It's just that the creative geniuses or the people that we go, Ooh, she's really creative. They've kept up those behaviors and those behaviors are ones of. Abstracting themselves, looking at problems from different perspectives, daring to combine things that they haven't combined before, and looking from fresh perspectives to look at ways of solving problems.
That's pretty much it. The good news is every one of those skills, those behaviors can be learn, so it can be a skill-based tool. I remember myself. Uncreative I felt like, and then I had to revisit and relearn those behaviors I had when I was a kid and the creativity went through the roof. I hope that's been of value to you.
