Listen "Episode 46: It's the Patriarchy, It's always the Patriarchy"
Episode Synopsis
Err'body sick! And I did not anticipate that celebrity would provide all this insight into the maltreatment of the Uppity Black Woman, but they do, so a B*tch has something to say about it. Before we get into the deplorable monstrosity of what is one Mr. Sean Combs, I need to reaffirm the women who reaffirm me. Every once in a while I doubt my purpose. I question whether I am on on the right path. In those seasons of doubt, God/Source/Universe always winks and puts an exclamation mark to let me know, Osato, Go forward. I received this message loud and clear over the course of the week with the illuminated souls of beautiful Black Women who were all meant to touch me. Thank you Nussi, Rossy, Marlaine, Carla, and JoAnne. Message(s) received. Rise into Your Magnificence Sis. She is watching. It's almost too much to transition to discussing that n**ga, but we can talk about him without talking about him. What has been a common thread as we have used the celebrity Black Woman, Jada, Keke, and Cassie as the avatar for the Uppity Black Woman, is the vitriol pointed towards her when she speaks truth to power. Why are we generally so quick to doubt the veracity of her truth? I posit that this is based in our willingness to be complicit in the patriarchal institutions that support despicable behavior in order for us to hold on to the little (the little!) that we receive in return. As women, Black Women specifically, we must speak truth to power to ensure that Black.Women.Are.Free.From.Violence.
