Episode Synopsis

We not fuxing with a few things today.  In the first half of today's episode we discuss the pains of Father's Day, and how my daughter and I have shifted our procedures to ensure we feel full instead as if we are missing something. That has been a work, but we doing it. All the signs point to wholeness and we step confidently into knowing with assuredness that we have provision and protection - even if it comes with a few tears. We then move to discussing why I feel a ways about Juneteenth! Now before the people come for me, know that the original ask was to stop killing Black People, not a day off for Err-body. How YOU get a beach day (and YOU know who YOU are). The remainder of today's episode, we stay with Cole Arthur Riley and This Here Flesh: Spirituality, Liberation, and the Stories that Make Us and spend time on Chapter 6: "Belonging." We look at this chapter from the perspective of how do we best provide support in our communities. Community here is any space in which we "belong." Our communities include our friend groups - our links. The links make up a chain, and the chain is the strongest when its links are reinforced by the other links when needed. The query though, is how do you best provide that reinforcement. The Uppity Black Woman is often over-giving of time, energy, and resources. How does the Uppity Black Woman support her links without being depleted. How does the Uppity Black Woman facilitate assisting other Women with drawing on their own intestinal fortitude. It's a question I ponder frequently.  Sis, where are you in that link in the chain. If you pull that chain taut, does your link break?SHOW NOTESIf you have not already, reserve your spot for the Soul Flex Retreat, happening November 5-10.  During The Retreat, you will learn how to enliven your soul and harness your inner power through sensory workshops incorporating Ayurvedic principles and yoga movement.
