Listen "The Gospel of John Chapter 1-3"
Episode Synopsis
The testimony of the early Church leaders states John the Apostle was the author of the Gospel of John.. What is the main purpose of the Gospel of John? John states it is to show that Jesus of Nazareth was Christ, the Son of God, and that believers in him might have eternal life. There are three major themes of John's Gospel...The major themes include: eternal life, witness life, Messiah, Jerusalem (Jewish identity), identity itself, and signs.
Chapter 1 of the Gospel of John begins with a poetic hymn that tells the story of Jesus's origin, mission, and function. John says that Jesus is the incarnated Word of God, (in human form) and that be brought “grace and truth,” replacing the law given by Moses, and making God known in the world (1:17). My favorite verse starts at the beginning of the Gospel of John 1:1
