World Bank Vice President for South Asia Hartwig Schafer says that Sri Lanka looks on track to achieve a projected 3% to 3.5% economic growth this year, and has shown very impressive gains in other areas as well, such as the human capital index, which is higher than both the global and regional averages.
Speaking to Indeewari Amuwatte on our current affairs program @HydePark, Schafer also highlighted Sri Lanka's need for the island to do more work to ease any pressure points such as in preparing for an ageing demographic in the next 15 years, rapid digitalisation, and post pandemic recovery.
