Listen "Representative of the Foundation, Park Jeong-gyeong"
Episode Synopsis
She is both a picture book author and a mother of three children. After acknowledging and accepting that her second child had developmental disabilities, she began writing and drawing. She is the author of <Mom, For You> and <Watching the Sun in Jeju>. She has also collaborated with parents of children with developmental disabilities to create picture books like <Introducing Our Children>. Although it spontaneously happened, her pursuit of long-held desire to live in Jeju came true. In Jeju, she founded the parent group <Special Children of Jeju> dedicated to families with children who have developmental disabilities. Along with the group, she initiated various projects, including family forest play, art programs, and fathers and children bond. Beyond that, she has been active in improving the educational environment that should be rightfully provided for children with developmental disabilities. Currently, she has established the <Strange Cat Dream Field Social Cooperative> together with parents of children with developmental disabilities, working on systematizing the care for individuals with developmental disabilities. Her ultimate goal is to create a local community where individuals with disabilities and those without can coexist harmoniously.
