It’s Super Bowl week, and as Philadelphia’s beloved Birds make it to the big dance we thought it only appropriate to cover the city’s most enduring sports hero: Rocky Balboa.
A script written in a feverish 3 1/2 days from a first time screenwriter turned sports movies on their head. Packed with heart, sensitivity and triumph in the face of loss, Rocky inspires us all to go the distance. With such a heartening story, and so many sequels, it would have to be required viewing of any film fan. It’s a Best Picture winner and has one of the most iconic scores of all time.
