Hello everyone, it’s vibes web3 music competition week 17 and for this week, I’m joining in late but I still hope you check out what I have for you. I presented a song titled RUNAWAY BY AURORA. It’s a song that could make one feel nostalgic but trust me you’d enjoy that feeling because for some reason it’s just comforting. A friend recommended this song for me and I do hope that he enjoys my cover 🥰.

In this song Aurora expresses how much she missed home and wanted to just go back home. Runaway was a song she wrote as a little girl but according to her, she only realized the true meaning of it when she became an adult. Most times as children we always want to go away from home because we feel that is not the right place to be due to some things we find not convenient, well it’s only a matter of time before we start wishing we had stayed a little longer.
Of course there are exceptions, I don’t want to ever wishing going back to a home where there is domestic violence. But for a home when in the end you realize that all they ever showed you was love, you’d wish you had stayed longer. Life is always full of making choices and when we make the wrong choices sometimes we just end up accepting whatever comes and never strive to make things right again.
Runaway shows Aurora’s longing to go back home and that is what we should do, never give up on setting things right until the very end. Do check out the full lyrics in the link below.
RUNAWAY LYRICS FROM GENUIS

I was listenin' to the ocean
I saw a face in the sand
But when I picked it up
Then it vanished away from my hands, dah
I had a dream, I was seven
Climbin' my way in a tree
I saw a piece of Heaven
Waitin' in patience for me, dah

And I was runnin' far away
Would I run off the world someday?
Nobody knows, nobody knows
And I was dancing in the rain
I felt alive and I can't complain
But no, take me home
Take me home where I belong
I can't take it anymore

I was painting a picture
The picture was a painting of you
And for a moment I thought you were here
But then again, it wasn't true, dah
And all this time I have been lyin'
Oh, lyin' in secret to myself
I've been putting sorrow on the farthest place on my shelf
