"We were all given the one Spirit to drink" writes Paul in 1 Cor. 12:13. Have you ever thought about what it means to drink the Holy Spirit? As Martin shares, one thing is sure, and that is that drinking involves receiving. The Holy Spirit doesn't waterboard us! We need to turn our hearts towards God over and over and again so we can be continuously filled (and fueled) by the Spirit, which will mean that rivers of living water will simply overflow from us. And this will lead to us reacting differently to things and being in real freedom. Are you thirsty? Deshalb müssen wir unser Herz immer wieder Gott zuwenden, damit wir ständig vom Geist erfüllt werden können, und das wird dazu führen, dass Ströme lebendigen Wassers einfach aus uns herausfließen.
