Listen "Timpanogos Chamber Singers with Conductor Steve Durtschi"
Episode Synopsis
Today in the studio we have the winners of our KBYU-FM/Classical 89 high school choir competition: the Timpanogos Chamber Singers with conductor Steve Durtschi. They’ll sing everything from the Venezuelan infused “Mata del Anima Sola,” to classical songs of Samuel Barber and Conrad Susa, and also a cover of Pentatonix’s “Say Something.”
The choir performs each year at the Alpine Masterworks Festival and the Timpanogos Masterworks Concert. They’ve worked with conductors like: Craig Jessop, Mack Wilberg, Ryan Murphy, Anton Armstrong and Ronald Staheli. And throughout the school year the students pile into buses and head off for regional and state music festivals.
