Listen "Cherie Call and Tyler Castleton"
Episode Synopsis
Cherie Call started singing for audiences when she was 3 years old, and started writing her own songs when she was a teenager. So it wasn't a surprise to her family when she packed her belongings in her VW bug and headed to college to major in music. What WAS a surprise was when she wasn't accepted into the music program! However, that eventually all got sorted out. She did graduate, in music, from BYU. And then went on to tour, release a succession of successful albums (including her most recent titled Grace) and to collaborate with bands like The Lower Lights and Lincoln Highway.
Cherie sings and plays guitar. Tyler plays piano. But for a couple songs they break from the norm and Cherie plays ukulele and Tyler accordion. Steven Kapp Perry chats with Cherie about backyard concerts, her first album ‘Taken,’ meeting her husband and the stories behind songs so new they aren't on any album--yet.
