Listen "#20. Mastering the Comeback Rate: Aligning Your Mind and Soul"
Episode Synopsis
Is your meditation and yoga working?
This was me years ago. I would attend the class, feel so serene and then come back home and feel stressed. Whether it was the clutter in my home, or a child spilling some milk, or all 3 of my kids needing me at once, I would feel stressed.
Then I learned about this comeback rate and now my experience is totally opposite. I can literally stay quite steady within myself even if there is chaos around me. It’s been a practice and is what I want to talk to you about today.
Let’s talk about the comeback rate. This is something my thought leaders speak about and it’s the rate at which we come back to centre when we are feeling stressed or anxious.
Many use yoga and meditation to relax and get out of stress response, yet when they leave the class, they go right back into a stressful or anxious state.
What if we could do a few practices and get to work on them to live a life where we are so steady within, where we walk through life feeling calm and present in each moment?
Wouldn’t that be amazing!
When you are stressed, you are separated from your true self.
When you are in the moment and connected and centred and grounded inwardly, you are connected to your authentic self.
When we access this part of us that is already there, and train it and foster it, and we work to be more present, it helps us to come back to centre, it helps us in so many ways.
If you have a scattered mind and feel stressed in your day to day life, I invite you to listen in. I do an exercise near the end to help you go from stress response to relaxation response in just 90 seconds.
The goal is to stay so steady and connected inward.
It’s a practice to stay in this steady state for as long as possible.
If you are ready to work on this comeback rate with me, then I can’t wait to share what’s in this episode.
