Listen "The SWAN-COMM says Week 1 thrashing of Cal Poly was decisive"
Episode Synopsis
By - Joshua A. Swanson Last week, I announced the formation of the SWAN-COMM , a highly selective "intelligence" organization patterned on JFK's EX-COMM. The purpose of the group is to offer me key insights on what fans, a/k/a, BisoNation, are talking about with regards to the Herd. To borrow a line from the current POTUS, only "the best" find spots on the SWAN-COMM. They delivered in their Week 1 insight. You can join the SWAN-COMM and chime in with your thoughts by hitting me on Twitter @swany8 or texting 35270 during the show on Saturday mornings from 8:00-9:00a. Earlier today, I joined Dan Michaels and Doug Leier on KFGO to give my recap of NDSU's Week 1 performance. You can listen here . For Week 2, I asked the SWAN-COMM the following question: what impressed you most from North Dakota State's 49-3 demolition of Cal Poly at the Fargodome. Seven of them answered: 1. The Music Man: "Dan Marlette was all over the field. Good size, good speed, sure tackler, and able to diagnose plays quickly." 2. Mr. Tailgating: "I thought it was a great overall team performance, was a little concerned going into it about some of the rookies and sophomores getting out over their skis a bit. But I think the veterans and returning starters really helped them out and made it a great first tailgate. The football team played a very complete game as well." 3. Tecmo Legend: "Agreed on the running game. We could run at will and just chew up huge chunks every time we wanted." 4. The Rookie: "Offensive line and running game looked like they were playing game seven, gelled and dominated, might be the best rushing attack in school history." 5. Old Ball Coach: "The defensive line ate up blocks and made plays. North Dakota native Stanley Jones probably played his best game as a Bison and they are full of playmakers at tackle and end." 6. Bismarck Bison: "Offensive line was ridiculously strong. I thought Stick made some nice throws, too. We need someone to step-up and make those RJ [Urzendowski]-type catches across the middle and deep outs. ... I felt like we didn't really want to put any of our real good plays on film, a lot of bread and butter stuff." 7. Stripes: "Offensive line. Bruce and Lance having days wasn't by accident." As you can obviously see, I've assembled an excellent SWAN-COMM. You can join the committee and let me know what you think on Twitter @swany8, or text 35270 this Saturday morning from 8:00-9:00a. I'm interested in what you thought of NDSU's performance against Cal Poly. You can comment here, or let me know on Twitter @swany8. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
