Our purpose in studying church hurt should be to protect ourselves from being either the “offender” or the “offendee."First, we must understand the importance of being involved in a local, Bible believing church. It truly is God’s design for New Testament believers which we can find all throughout Scripture. God’s design for a church is unity in doctrine, service, and purpose. At the same time, God has created each of us to be different with unique personalities, talents, and tastes. It is only through the love of God that so many different people can come together in a church unified for the purpose of sharing the Gospel and edifying one another. However, any time people are brought together there is potential for problems…Yes, the church should be different. We should be different.Different...not perfect. So how can we be careful not to hurt or offend others?
