She copyedits for Vanity Fair, GQ, People magazine, Real Woman magazine, Thriving magazine, Audubon magazine, The Knot and The Bump, Document Journal, Macmillan and St. Martin’s Press on a freelance basis and proofreads college textbooks, home decor books, novels and self-help books from time to time. She’s also a reporter for Diversity in Action magazine. She copyedited full-time for Good Housekeeping for seven years and for Redbook, Woman's Day and Dr. Oz for one. Laura has written for the Washington Post, The Hill, Good Housekeeping, Guideposts, People magazine, Runner's World, the Associated Press, Real Woman magazine, The Fix, OK! magazine, McSweeney’s, Monkeybicycle, Vagabondage Press, various trade magazines, Basket of Kisses and Fashion and Grammar Gripes.She has worked to raise awareness as an advocate with the National Safety Council, End Distracted Driving, the Safe Roads Alliance, Families for Safe Streets NJ, Act to End Deadly Distractions, NCSR Road Safety Advocacy and the Road to Zero Coalition. These days she raises awareness via her book, My Father's List, a memoir about her father, who was killed by a distracted driver, and as a marathon runner.
