There are many good things in this life. We pursue them with joy, enthusiasm, even a degree of planning and care. The prudent person cares for that which they have earned and that which has been entrusted to them. We have professionals who help manage our wealth, CPAs and financial advisors. We invest time and money to maintain our money… making well thought out decisions to guard the earthly treasures we have earned. Sometimes we sacrifice a lot to protect investments. We will give nearly everything (our time, our talents, our sweat equity) to maintain our earthly treasures, things we can’t take with us. There are many good things, but there is only one great thing! We can spend our entire life pursuing goals that are worthless, or even goals that are objectively good but not ours—or not Christ’s goals for us. There is only one thing truly worth giving our invaluable lives for. The eternal love of Jesus Christ. What could be better?
