In order to keep our peace, we must keep the underlying theme that God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Without this thought, we might then begin to wonder if the new covenant grace will truly forgive all of our sins. We might start to question "Does God forgive everything?" Even abortion (or that sin you are thinking of right now)? How can you find forgiveness and freedom after such a sin? Should you be punished and have tormenting fear as your portion? And maybe abortion isn't part of your story, so consider that thing that causes you shame and guilt. That thing that leaves you feeling like you are not worthy of forgiveness. My special guest, Brittany Poppe, told her testimony about suffering from fear of punishment after an abortion. She suffered with this tormenting fear that left her expecting to be punished for her sin of choosing an abortion at age 17. It wasn't until she gave birth to her second child later in life that she found healing with Jesus and began to understand the undeserved grace He offers.
