Listen "Supply Chain Issues Force a Municipal Ski Hill To Close in Toronto"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome to the inagural episode of Head for the Hills with Glenn Crouter and Dave Traffford. Toronto is lucky to have two urban ski centres. One at Earl Bales Park in North York, the other at Centennial Park in Etobicoke. We learned this morning the Centennial Park site has been forced to close because of a shortage of mechanical supplies needed to support equipment on the hill. Also this week, we highlight the new owners of a legacy ski resort in Central Ontario. Doug Wilkinson not only purchased the family business at Sir Sam's in Haliburton, he made the commitment at the height of the pandemic. And, what's up on the hills on Family Day? Glenn says the Canadian Ski Council is sponsoring a day for newbie, never before skiiers to try the sport at locations in British Columbia for $30!
