You asked and we answered! Andrea is 1/2 of HBCU Highlights and now it's time you hear her amazing HBCU story!
Andrea grew up in the backyard of Texas Southern University and most of her family members graduated from Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M but she fell in love with Spelman after watching episodes of The Cosby Show and A Different World! Her mother allowed her to fly to Atlanta on her own to visit a the college and she felt right at home! This visit to Spelman is how Andrea learned about a full tuition academic scholarship to Spelman. She was awarded the NASA WISE scholarship, a full tuition academic scholarship to Spelman and Georgia Tech! While at Spelman College, she attributes her academic success to her fellow WISE sisters who pushed and motivated her to achieve excellence! She owns a world renowned intellectual property law firm, The Law Firm of Andrea Hence Evans, LLC, an award winning STEM program, KidGINEER, and a educational and mentoring program for lawyers, Boss-Squire, LLC.
