We dive into the realities of balancing a business through a challenging pregnancy, the postpartum period, and the unique pressures of managing both a career and family life when you work for yourself.
Kaz opens up about the financial strain caused by a difficult pregnancy; missing out on work left her playing catch-up right after Elsie’s birth. Just days into motherhood, she was back at it: meeting deadlines, finalising artwork, and signing clients for the February print run of Your Pregnancy magazine. Kaz shares how she felt robbed of the “newborn bubble” she’d hoped for, as her planned maternity leave boundaries quickly disappeared.
We also explore the blurred lines between work and mum life when family needs and career demands are always competing for attention, and how Kaz is learning to carve out time for both.
