Regent University based in Virginia Beach, began operations in 1977, and in 2016 the University's athletics department began competition with men's and women's track & field teams. Since that time, Regent Athletics has added basketball, soccer, volleyball, and cross country to its program and has competed in the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA). This September, the Royals programs look to take another step forward as it begins the exploratory process for membership in NCAA Division-III.
