2023 VSHF inductee, Bob Rotanz, is one of just two players in Roanoke College Men’s Lacrosse history to win National Player of the Year honors, a feat he accomplished in 1978. That same season, Rotanz also took home National Defensive Player of the Year honors, and helped lead the Maroons to the NCAA D-II National Championship, scoring the winning goal in a 14-13 victory over Hobart College. The New York native has since made his home in Southwest Virginia, and his commitment to his community and alma mater have seen him receive the Roanoke College Medal, the highest achievement for Maroon alumni.
