Listen "Jeremiah part 2"
Episode Synopsis
Jeremiah was called to warn the people to repent and proclaim Jerusalem's coming destruction by invaders from the north, because Israel had forsaken God by worshipping Baal, idols and other gods, and burning their children as sacrifices. The nation had deviated so far from God that they had broken their covenant, causing God to withdraw His blessing and protection. Jeremiah was called to warn that the nation of Judah would suffer famine, conquest by a foreign nation, and to be taken into captivity in a strange land if they didn’t repent.
To better understand the extensive mercy of God, we need to look at the history and covenant that the people made before God and He to them. God had delivered them from their slavery in Egypt by sending them a deliverer, Moses. He drove out all the inhabitants of the land before them and fought on their behalf.
