Episode Synopsis
This is James’ story. James was born in Newlyn and spent his childhood in and under the water in Mount’s Bay. Learning to dive with the Penzance Sub Aqua Club in the 1960s, he was one of the earliest to dive in the bay.
GWELEN SHORT STORIES accompany the interpretation panels installed along the Penzance – Marazion coastal path as part of the artwork Gwelen. Gwelen is an artwork by Artist Emma Smith with residents of West Penwith. The interpretation panels and accompanying audio have been created in collaboration with design studio TWO and Storylines, a community Interest Company who specialise in recording and sharing stories in creative ways.
