We've finished the didactic or teaching portions of the book of Matthew. Now, we'll watch Jesus go to the cross. And on the way, we learn so much more about our great God and Savior. In this passage, we'll grapple with the interaction of two principles: free will, and the sovereignty of God. Standing alone, each idea is pretty easy to explain and accept. But can the two exist together? This question has been hotly debated for centuries, but there's another – even more important question, that we'll find in today's scripture: Where is the best place in life?
