Listen "Be One With God’s Will"

Episode Synopsis

Today’s devotion is from the words of Christ in Luke 22:42, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Jesus is fully submissive and obedient to the Father. It is the Father’s will for Him to sacrifice Himself by dying on the cross to save us. In His agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, we see His perfect submission to the will of the Father in accomplishing His mission. Jesus, the Second Person of the Godhead incarnate, is one with the Father’s will. He was completely victorious when He rose from the dead. Like Jesus, the way to victory is to be one with God’s will. Every time we pray and seek God’s will in our struggles and challenges, remember that His will for us is to become one with His will. It is God's will to make us holy, righteous, and blameless. So, ourstruggle with sin, temptation, and pain is achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. However, when we assert our own will, are reactionary toward struggles and sufferings, and make choices based on our own preferences, defeat and failure are inevitable. The dictates of our weakness toward giving up easily show our lack of endurance, persistence, and inner strength. Ultimately, living independently of God and His will and expecting to be victorious against sin, temptation, and trials is foolishness.  Still, to be one with God's will is to submit daily to His teachings and obey them, especially when things are not okay, mistreated, slandered, or experiencing hardships. It is like when you pray and forgive the maltreater, you reflect God's forgiving nature, and by constant practice, you become a forgiver like Christ. When that happens, no hurt, anger, bitterness, or hatred can rule you, for you are one with God's will.  May you become one with God's will for a victorious life. Amen.
