Built in the late 19th century, the Oshkosh Grand Opera House has hosted many celebrities and other luminaries from Vaudeville, opera, and early theater.  Later on, it was converted into a movie theater, but as the years went by, the building was falling into disrepair.  A citizen committee formed and succeeded in getting it onto historic registers.
