Listen "12. Crisis of Self-Identity"
Episode Synopsis
In Episode #12, Billy Donnelly struggles with his own crisis of self-identity, which is a direct result from his natural desire to want to be liked. After putting himself out there so long as this persona he believed made it easier for him to be accepted and embraced by others, he is having a hard time answering the question "Who am I really?" He ponders where one's true self ends and the person we publicly put into the world begins, as he examines his lack of self-confidence in allowing who he believes he is to be enough for others. He discusses our defense mechanisms in being judged and trying to tip the scales in our favor to be liked, but also talks about the damage and long-term ramifications that come from feeling as if you've lost yourself or that no one knows who you actually are.
