The leadership question can be daunting for many, but in fact it is not required to have gigantic leadership experiences. The background of the question is rather “do you see yourself as a leader” or even more precisely “can you see yourself as a leader”. The question really is: is it part of your identity (is it part of your mental blueprint) that you are a leader? Because this is the key element that enables you to grow as a leader. You have to be convinced that you are a leader. That is why you have to be able to answer this question. Therefore, the task is not to answer perfectly but to answer it confidently. The leadership task at hand doesn’t have to be that big, but it has to show that it is part of your identity that you are a leader.
