Listen "Tinyiko Golele"
Episode Synopsis
In this week’s edition of Gateway to Africa we profile Tinyiko Golele, one of the first female rangers to work for the Kruger National Park. From a humbling beginning, she is now the chief regional ranger and is aiming high. Tinyiko was recently at the launch of Operation Ivory, a project through which private companies make donations to beef up efforts to combat elephant and rhino poaching in the Kruger national Park. Also in the programme we find out why the recently launched Rhino Horn Trade Africa is a ground breaking initiative. Rhino Horn Trade Africa is an online platform which aims to provide an efficient way for buyers and sellers to trade in humanely acquired rhino horn.
