Guess what? It's one of my favorite days of the year! Earth Day!

Do you know what Earth Day is all about? Well, let me tell you!
Back in 1970, a senator named Gaylord Nelson created Earth Day to make people care about our planet. Imagine, 20 million Americans came together to show how much they love the Earth!

And you know why April 22nd was picked for Earth Day? It's because it falls between spring break and final exams, so college students could join in too!
Now, I'm not an environmental expert, but I do know that taking care of our planet is super important. In fact, I dream of having a future with solar panels, windmills, and a beautiful garden! I even compost to help reduce waste.
Earth Day is a great time to start thinking about how we can take better care of our planet. You can start by picking up trash when you're outside.

Did you know some things, like cigarette butts and candy wrappers, can take tens of years to break down? Crazy, right?
