Ruby can now run on Wasm! WebAssembly (abbreviated Wasm) is a binary instruction format for a stack-based virtual machine. Wasm is designed as a portable compilation target for programming languages, enabling deployment on the web for client and server applications. So…we can now run "real" Ruby in the browser, right? Yes! …and no. Caveat emptor, but nevertheless this is a very welcome development and promising technology for the future.
