It was one of the nastiest elections in recent memory and included plenty of name calling. Even the Conservatives accused Prime Minister Paul Martin of supporting child pornography. It was also the first election as leaders for Stephen Harper and Jack Layton, who would dominate Canadian politics for the next decade.
