Listen "Interview - Richard Williams - Military Digital Library"
Episode Synopsis
Richard talks about digitising military history records, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.
My favourite quote of the episode is "They got a big three meter by three meter canvas photograph done of that pyramid and he donated it to us. And we've been using that as a backdrop when we go out on site. And, this lady came and said, oh, this person here is my great, great grandfather and, we know that, he had medals, but nobody knows where they are. And we went and looked on our website and we had him there and it said that his medals were collected by her great aunt, who was still alive. She didn't tell me she had the medals and we've talked about it heaps of times. So she was gonna go straight back and talk to this lady, show me these medals."
