One of the greatest decisions that anyone can ever make is to follow Jesus Christ. Now once that decision is made, one has to understand that one of the biggest deterrents to following Christ is Self. In order for one to faithfully and successfully follow Jesus, self has to be denied and neutralized. Now this will not be easy because self is so used to doing what it wants, when it wants, how and where it wants. But Matthew 16:24 tells us that in order to follow Jesus, self has to be denied.
