Listen "Hoshea: Guardian of the Future-VaYetzei-Haftarah 5783"

Episode Synopsis

So many questions to ponder that we know there are answers for but so little time!  So in the Prophets portion for Parashat Vayetzei, Hoshea mentions 2 things Ya'akov did which is why this portion was matched with the Torah portion.
1-Jacob's flight from home to "the field of Aram" & 2-the mention of Yerushalayim, when Hoshea says that The Almighty says I am in your midst and I will not enter a city...What in the world does that mean?
Does this connect to Galatians 4???
The relation of the haftarah to the parasha from the Etz Chayim commentary, to summarize, says the vocabulary of the parasha recurs.  Jacob "served" [va-ya-avod] for Rachel, see Gen 29:20 & 30 by "guarding [eshmor] Lavan's Sheep, see Gen 30:31.
Hoshea states that Israel, i.e. Ya'akov/Jacob, "served" [va-ya-avod] for his wife by guarding [shamar] sheep, as Hoshea says in 12:13. The theme of divine care and G-ds providence is directed to Ya'akov and then to the entire nation through a prophet, Moshe, who helped deliver the nation from servitude and GUARDED them. Hoshea shows how Ya'akov shepherding is like Moshe shepherding Israel in the future. Listen in for more in depth study!
