Known as "Boxhead", Steve was a cornerstone of the Canberra Raiders' dominance in the late 1980s and 1990s, playing a pivotal role in the club’s first three premiership victories.Born in Rockhampton, Queensland, Steve’s career was defined by toughness, skill, and leadership. He played 299 first-grade games, the majority with the Canberra Raiders, before finishing his career with the North Queensland Cowboys and Newcastle Knights.On the representative stage, Steve was a key figure for the Maroons, making 14 State of Origin appearances from 1990 to 1996. He also proudly wore the green and gold of Australia, representing the Kangaroos in 15 international matches.
