Episode 669 - Tim Siegel is a First Class Father and retired tennis coach at Texas Tech.  In 2015 his son, Luke, was involved in a tragic golf cart accident that left him with traumatic brain injuries so bad the neurologist told the Siegel family that Luke would never use his voice or his limbs.  Luke was a fighter and was able to inspire millions of people around the world without ever saying a word.  In August 2021, Luke Siegel, passed away after complications related to COVID-19.  Tim Siegel founded https://www.teamlukehopeforminds.org which helps support children after brain injury.
In this Episode, Tim shares his Fatherhood journey which includes four children.  He discusses the many challenges he faced as a father since Luke’s accident including being a present father for his three daughters.  He describes the impact of so many athletes who supported Luke including Drew Brees and Patrick Mahomes, who continues to wear a bracelet in honor of Luke during every NFL game.  Tim talks about his new book, “Fight Like Luke: Transforming Grief Into Love, Strength, and Faith”.  He offers some great advice for new and soon-to-be dads and more!
