Episode Synopsis

Luke 22:7-16. Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover. Where do you want us to prepare for it? They asked. He replied, as you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, and say to the owner of the house, ‘The teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ He will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished. Make preparations there.Mark 15:33-39. At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried, out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (Which means “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”). When some of those standing near heard this, they said, “Listen, he’s calling Elijah.” Someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to take him down, he said. With What did the tearing of the curtain mean?We need the boldness to enter in.Hebrews 4:14-16, “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”Challenge: Accept Jesus’ invitation to enter through the shredded curtain and boldly approach the throne of Grace.
