A few years ago I decided to try my hand at dating. It’d been a few years since my husband had passed and I figured I’d give online dating a try. (I may do a whole separate podcast about online dating—that is definitely not for the feint of heart!) Anyway, I had gone out with a guy, we’d hit it off great and dated for about a month. Things were going great, or so I thought. But then one morning I woke up to what was basically a “Dear Jane” email. An email breaking it off. Not even a phone call, just a cold, impersonal email.  Anyway, I got into a funk, I wondered what I’d done wrong. To this day I still don’t know what happened, but my self-esteem was shattered. I called one of my neighbor ladies, explained what had happened and said I was feeling very down and dejected.  Within 15 minutes there was a knock at my door and there stood four of my dear neighbor ladies--my tribe. It was as if they’d put out an emergency alert, gathered some supplies and headed over to my house. As they came in, I could see they had brought a good assortment of comfort items: Wine and cheese, Oreo cookies, chocolates from Japan, some BBQ chips, popcorn, and a bottle of Jack Daniels....Listen in as I explain how my tribe held me up and held me together.
