Listen "Episode 9: Red Sonja (1985)"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome back to Film Haven Reviews!! This week we are saying goodbye to the ill Fated Sword and Sorcery theme with the action packed Red Sonja (1985)This one was the least entertaining when it came to unintentional humor and quirkiness, but it provided the best sword fighting and action sequences. The main characters might not know how to act but they do know how to swing a sword, and for a movie of this caliber I'd say that's all they needed to know. I gave this a 6/10 for being the least interesting of the theme but still being thoroghly entertaining nonetheless. This theme has brought me to the conclusion that critics just don't want to have a good time and try too hard to knit pick movies that are obviously not trying to be The Godfather or Citizen Kane. We have to look at intention and entertainment value when we judge movies, not just cultural significance and cerberal enrichment. There's enough room in the cinematic zietghiest for both types of movies to exist and for us to enjoy them equally!
