Listen "Episode 3: Mary Shelly's Frankenstein (1994) "
Episode Synopsis
Welcome back to Film Haven Reviews! This week marks the conclusion of my "Killer Creations" theme and what better way to close out than with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein!?This muddled Kenneth Branagh directed adaptation is a mixed bag of bad acting, weird choices, and some incredible set/production design that caused me to have an enjoyable experience, if not a slightly disappointed one considering I had high expectations for the only true book to film adaption of the Gothic Sci-fi classic. I gave it a 7/10 because while Kenneth Branagh obviously put alot of heart into the production and some elements truly worked, the strange departures from the book weigh down the potentially iconic staying power this film could have achieved.
