Context will help us better understand Peter's words as the Bible was written for us but not to us. Before studying, we always need to first answer some key questions that help us know the original intent of the passage and what was going on in the world in which these words were first written.

Peter knew suffering, but Peter also knew Jesus. His letters are an encouragement to anyone facing hardships and trials and a reminder that we can be steadfast because our God is steadfast. And when we persevere, what awaits us in eternity is worth far more than anything this world has to offer.
