Just as pain is to the body, so is your conscience to your spirit. Your conscience was given to you by God to help discern and receive His voice. When you first began your walk with the Lord, your conscience was renewed, and as you spend time with the Lord, the Word of God becomes etched into your heart. The enemy will always try to muffle the voice of God in your life, and he attacks your conscience by trying to sear it with his own lies. If he can't sear your conscience with lies, he will muddy or corrupt your conscience and how it hears the Word of God. There is good news, though! He can wash and renew your conscience with the blood of Jesus!
