In this episode of The Mandalorian, titled "The Spies," we see the formation of a Shadow Council with the goal of returning the Empire to power under Grand Admiral Thrawn's leadership. We are introduced to Captain Gilad Pellaeon and General Brendol Hux, the father of Armitage Hux, who played a general in the First Order. Gideon becomes aware of Bo's squadron and Din's covert plans to retake Mandalore, and considers the Mandalorians a threat. We learn how Gideon obtained the Darksaber, and witness an ambush of the Mandalorians by imperial troopers with beskar armor and jetpacks. Paz Vizsla stays behind to take on the troopers and becomes a valiant hero taken down.
