So much in life can sometimes shackle us and keep us from living truly free.  This song talks about how amazing grace has saved the one, who was once lost and blind.  Grace gave him hope and now he feels free from his chains because his God has ransomed him and shown him unending love.  Even if the world ends, the Lord will, always be with him.  The good news is that the rewards of this victory are not just enjoyed by Christ, they are freely available to those who come to Him through faith.  The writer to the Hebrews tells us His purpose was “that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Heb. 2:14-15).  My chains are gone!
